About the Text Compare

Spot exactly what changed between two versions of an article, contract clause or email. Word-level comparison highlights individual edits within sentences; line-level comparison is better for lists and code. Additions are highlighted in green and deletions in red, with a running count of each.

How to use it

  1. Paste the original text on the left.
  2. Paste the changed text on the right.
  3. Review highlighted insertions (green) and deletions (red).

Good to know

  • Comparison runs locally, so confidential drafts stay private.
  • For code with line numbers and patch export, use the Diff Checker.

Frequently asked questions

Can it ignore whitespace changes?

The Diff Checker has an “Ignore whitespace” option for line-based comparison.

Is there a size limit?

Texts of several hundred kilobytes compare quickly; extremely large inputs may slow down word-level comparison.
