About the Image Compressor
Large images slow down websites, bounce off email size limits and eat phone storage. This compressor re-encodes images with a quality you choose and can optionally downscale anything wider than a maximum width — the two changes that save the most bytes.
The result list shows the exact percentage saved for every file, so you can fine-tune quality until the trade-off looks right.
How to use it
- Choose quality, output format and an optional maximum width.
- Drop your images (batch is supported).
- Compare sizes and download the smaller files.
Good to know
- Re-encoding a JPEG that was already heavily compressed may not shrink it further — the list highlights files that got larger.
- WebP and AVIF give the best savings; JPEG gives the best compatibility.
- Compression strips EXIF metadata, which also removes GPS data.
