About the Paragraph Counter

Short paragraphs make web pages and emails easier to scan. Paste your text to count paragraphs and see the average number of sentences in each — a quick check for walls of text. Everything runs locally, so drafts and confidential documents stay private.

How to use it

  1. Paste your text with blank lines between paragraphs.
  2. Read the paragraph count and averages.
  3. Break up paragraphs averaging more than 4–5 sentences.

Good to know

  • Text copied from some editors uses single line breaks between paragraphs; add blank lines for accurate counting.
  • Lines containing only spaces are treated as blank.
