About the Line Counter

Quickly count records in a pasted list, lines of code in a snippet or rows in exported data. You also see how many lines are blank and how long the longest line is — useful for spotting malformed entries.

How to use it

  1. Paste your text.
  2. Read the line statistics.

Good to know

  • Windows (CRLF), Unix (LF) and classic Mac (CR) line endings are all recognised.
  • A trailing newline at the end of the text counts as an extra empty line, as most editors display it.

Frequently asked questions

Does an empty input have zero lines?

Yes. Any non-empty text has at least one line.

Does it count wrapped lines?

No, only real line breaks count, not visual wrapping.
