About the XML Formatter
Make XML readable — SOAP responses, RSS feeds, sitemaps, SVG and config files. The formatter indents nested elements, keeps short text elements on one line, preserves comments and CDATA, and reports unclosed or mismatched tags with their names.
Your data is processed in the browser and never sent to a server, so it is safe to paste payloads that contain tokens or personal data.
How to use it
- Paste XML or open a file.
- Choose the indentation.
- Copy or download the formatted XML.
Good to know
- Whitespace inside text nodes is trimmed; avoid formatting XML where whitespace is significant (e.g. some document formats).
- DTD and namespace declarations are preserved as written.
