About the CSS Minifier

Shrink stylesheets for faster page loads. Beyond removing whitespace and comments, the CSSO optimizer shortens values (#ffffff → #fff, 0px → 0), merges duplicate selectors and drops redundant declarations. Comments starting with /*! (licences) are kept.

Your data is processed in the browser and never sent to a server, so it is safe to paste payloads that contain tokens or personal data.

How to use it

  1. Paste CSS or open a .css file.
  2. Choose whether to allow advanced restructuring.
  3. Copy or download the minified CSS.

Good to know

  • If a page relies on specific rule order across files, test after enabling advanced optimizations.
  • Syntax errors are reported instead of producing broken output.

Frequently asked questions

How much will it save?

Typically 15–30% for hand-written CSS before gzip.

Do I still need gzip/brotli?

Yes. Minification and compression complement each other.
